How to Fix Broken Cords on Graber Shades

Print this articleGraber shades come in different styles; some have cords and some don't. The styles with cords will eventually wear out no matter how long the shades last. The cords become worn over time, or receive too much pressure, and fray or break. This doesn't mean you must replace your shades. Instead, you can restring the shades yourself for little cost other than that of the new cord. Watch carefully as you work, so you are able to put the cords back in their original position and you will have shades that are as good as new.

Put the top joiner ball and washer back onto the cords, tie a knot in the end of the cords and trim any excess length.

23

Closed the joiner ball by screwing the bottom half of the ball to the top half.

24

Hang the shade back up by putting the front of the shade into the front bracket and pushing the bracket up and back until it clicks into position.
